1. Service Description

Dotts is a personal-finance dashboard that aggregates data from financial institutions you connect. The dotts.info website is the informational landing page; the application is at app.dotts.info. Dotts can also be self-hosted on your own infrastructure.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or the Dotts application, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

3. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Dotts. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@dotts.info if you suspect unauthorised access.

Dotts is a financial-data aggregation tool, not a licensed financial advisor, broker, or bank. The application does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice, does not execute transactions, and does not hold funds. Any information, recommendation, or analysis the AI advisor surfaces is informational only — all financial decisions and tax filings remain your responsibility. Verify with a licensed professional before acting.

6. Third-Party Connections

When you connect a financial institution, an email account (Gmail), or any other third-party service to Dotts, you authorise us to access that service on your behalf using the credentials or OAuth tokens you provide. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to grant that access. Third-party services have their own terms; we are not responsible for their availability or behaviour.

7. Intellectual Property

The Dotts brand, design, and source code are owned by Dotts or its licensors. You retain all rights to the data you upload or that we retrieve on your behalf. Self-hosting users may use the published source code under its open-source licence (where available); the Dotts trademarks and brand assets are not licensed for redistribution.

8. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, third-party institution downtime, or anti-bot defences may temporarily affect scrape functionality. We may modify, add, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dotts is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including data loss, financial loss, missed financial events, or service interruptions — arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any direct claim is limited to amounts you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (zero, if you are on a free tier).

10. Self-Hosting Responsibility

If you self-host Dotts on your own infrastructure, you are responsible for the security of that infrastructure, data backups, key management, and compliance with applicable laws regarding the storage of financial data. Dotts is not liable for incidents on self-hosted deployments.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and delete your data via the in-app "Delete all my data" feature. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose a security risk; we will notify you when feasible.

12. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa.
